Trailer boats are well suited for short distance cruising, fishing and even water skiing. They are typically powered by a stern drive or outboard engine arrangement. They are designed to comfortably seat small groups.

Sport Cruisers and Power Boats

These medium sized boats are typically powered by stern-drive petrol engines and are an excellent choice for day cruising and short over-night stays onboard. Often stored at private marinas, these boats require more upkeep than regular trailer boats and usually have to be hauled out of the water yearly for anti-fouling and other servicing at a slipway.

Motor Yachts & Luxury Yachts

Larger sized vessels that are much more expensive than sport cruisers. These vessels come in multi-cabin configuration and have larger entertaining areas for guests. They are generally powered by inboard diesel engine arrangements and are more suited to long range cruising and over-night stays. There is more deck space available and you are likely to find a boat tender stored either on the transom or fore deck. Luxury Motor Yacht’s sometimes require more coverage than the average boat insurance policy, that is why we offer a broader type of insurance cover policy. Please contact us to find out more.

Sailing Yachts

Yachts and sail boats come in many different sizes and designs. Most have some form of downstairs saloon or cabin area. Yachts can have a single, double or triple sail area design. Sailing Boats under 25ft in size often have a long shaft outboard engine attached to a bracket that can provide a means of auxiliary propulsion, which assists in mooring tasks. Yachts over the 25ft mark generally opt for an inboard diesel engine arrangement and is this is the correct choice for coastal cruising activities.

Personal Watercraft – Jet Skis

Personal Watercraft or more commonly known as PWC or Jet Skis are often known by their brand names: Sea Doo, Wave runners and so on. They can seat 1, 2 or even 3 people depending on the model of jet ski that you purchase. There have been many advancements in these craft over recent years. Some manufactures are producing models with special braking features and even models intended specifically for wake boarding and water skiing. Certain jet ski models can achieve speeds of up to 80 knots, which is why we offer policies that cater for this type of personal water craft.
